Why am I doing this blog? I'll tell you a little story. A while ago I was at a bar chatting with friends and made a comment about finding out that the Crazy Horse cinema was the CBDs longest running cinemas, we chatted about porn cinemas and porn shops and which one had closed, which one were still around. I made a comment that someone should do a book or something about Melbourne's adult entertainment history. They all turned to me and said I should do it. And that's how it started. First it was just porn shops and cinemas, when they opened and what was there before them. Then while researching in the state library's newspaper archives I found lots of other info about censorship, protests, outrage, etc. You know, the usual stuff tabloid journalism thrives off.  The more I dug, the more interesting it became.
